The Meadowlands has announced conditions for a new upcoming trotting series it will be carding in the coming weeks.
The Meadowlands will offer a short overnight series for three-year-old trotters with separate colt and filly divisions. The series is for non-winners of two (New Jersey-sired three) pari-mutuel races or $30,000 USD lifetime (winners of more than $75,000 USD life ineligible) with New Jersey-sired preferred (date preference over non-New Jersey-sired) and eligible for the 25 per cent New Jersey bonus in these races.
There will be $20,000 USD legs on Friday, May 31 and Friday, June 7 with a $40,000 USD final going on Friday, June 14. There is no payment required, simply enter the race as you would for an overnight.
These races are designed to provide starts for the less accomplished prospects from New Jersey and other regional programs for evaluation toward their future. It is the hope of the racetrack that they will fill a void for both the connections and make for competitive races of decent field size for the horseplayer.
Any questions should be sent to Director of Racing Scott Warren at [email protected].
