Officials at Vernon Downs announced Friday afternoon that an unexpected incident led to the cancellation of the track's Friday, May 14 card of live racing and simulcasting

Via release, Vernon announced that a transformer blew, which rendered the racing facility with no power.
The track is currently working on the problem. Officials at Vernon have stated that the track should be open for simulcast and live racing on Saturday, May 15.
