The Camluck Classic has kicked off the ‘Mike & Mike’ schedule over the past three years and continues to be one of the most listened to remotes all year. The storied history behind the Camluck Classic is unprecedented and has featured many great winners, including State Treasurer, who won the event three times. In 2018, Rockin Ron came close to recording the track’s first sub-1:50 mile, as he paced in a track record-setting 1:50.1.

“We are pleased to partner with ‘Post Time’ for our signature event again this season. The additional distribution and exposure south of the border gives us a big boost,” said Western Fair’s Greg Blanchard. “This will be the second edition of the Camluck Classic (formerly the Molson Pace) and with the switch back to our traditional Friday night time slot we are looking forward to another exciting race and fun-filled night overall.”

In 2018, Mike and Mike expanded their Canadian coverage to include the Pepsi North America Cup at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The tradition will continue this year when the pair returns to the famed facility to cover both the Pepsi North America Cup and Canadian Pacing Derby. Both nights have a lot of history behind them and have produced some of racing’s greatest moments throughout the years.

“We’re very happy to welcome back Post Time with Mike & Mike to Woodbine Mohawk Park in 2019,” said Mark McKelvie. “Michael Carter and Michael Bozich have created a great brand and are a must-listen show, it only makes sense to have their on-site coverage of our marquee events.”

Mike and Mike will return to Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment for the fourth consecutive year to help cover some of the sport’s top races. The premier events at the Meadowlands are the Meadowlands Pace and the Hambletonian. This will be the third year that the pair will be covering the historic events which have featured some of the best three-year-old pacing and trotting races of all time.

“We are excited once again to work with Mike and Mike to promote our two biggest events the Hambletonian and Meadowlands Pace,” said Jason Settlemoir of the Meadowlands. “Mike and Mike do an excellent job and we consider this program a plus for our sport.”

Another focus in 2019 will be a return to Harrah’s Hoosier Park where the duo will return for the fourth straight year. In 2018, the pair helped cover the beginning of Lazarus’ career when he scored a victory in the Dan Patch Stakes. The duo returned in September to witness his second win at Hoosier Park in the Hoosier Pacing Derby. The duo will cover both the Dan Patch and Pacing Derby, just a couple of Hoosier Park’s many stakes throughout the year.

“At Harrah’s Hoosier Park we do everything in our power to make our big nights such as the Dan Patch Stakes, and Caesars Trotting Classic even bigger,” said Rick Moore, Vice President and General Manager of Racing at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. “An integral part of that means making sure that Post Time with Mike and Mike is live and reporting from on-track. As I have said in the past it’s not a big night if Mike & Mike are not there.”

The crew joining Mike & Mike will look slightly different in 2019 as Nicholas ‘Ace’ Barnsdale, the son of handicapper Garnet Barnsdale, will begin working with the show. The father Barnsdale, Taylor Johnston, and Rich Mattei will also continue to attribute their talents to the program.

Jessica Otten, who has joined Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment, will provide her expertise during a couple of remotes throughout the season.

Garnet Barnsdale will help to co-host the Camluck Classic, Pepsi North America Cup, Canadian Pacing Derby, the Hambletonian, and the Breeders Crown.

The younger Barnsdale will begin his time with Mike and Mike at the Camluck Classic in London. Barnsdale is currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Journalism program at the Humber College School of Journalism. ‘Ace’ has always had a keen interest in harness racing and is part-owner in two-year-old trotting filly Knockdown Dragout who is set to debut this summer.

Johnston joined the duo in 2017, helping to co-host the Dan Patch Stakes and filled roles during the Breeders Crown, assisting with paddock interviews. This year, she will join the duo at Harrah’s Hoosier Park for coverage of the Dan Patch Stakes and Caesars Trotting Classic working in the winners’ circle and providing her analysis of the races.

Rich ‘The Natural’ Mattei will also be handling some of the handicapping duties for the live events, providing in-depth analysis of the races.

Post Time with Mike and Mike will feature each of their live remotes on their website (posttimewithmikeandmike.com) or listeners can catch the archive at betamerica.com/BARN.
