The annual horsemen’s hockey tournament in southern Ontario is now set to get underway this Sunday (April 10) at the Cambridge Sports Park on Franklin Avenue. Eight teams are ready to get at it, and the first game will see the puck drop at 8:00 a.m.
Draft Day took place at the infamous Risposta Bistro in Campbellville. Tournament organizers have said that they would like to see a lot of fans in attendance to witness the best tournament in many years.
Organizer Jody Jamieson stated that “There are eight evenly-matched teams and some superior talent joining us this year, with first-timer Denis Hamel, and returning players Austin McEneny of the QMJHL's Quebec Remparts and Todd Ratchford of the GOJHL's Caledonia Corvair.”
This year the tournament has been sponsored by the Woodbine Entertainment Group, the Ontario Harness Horse Association and the Central Ontario Standardbred Association, as well as Merit Insurance.
