ORC Rules On Boyd, House Appeals

The Ontario Racing Commission has issued rulings in regard to appeals from horsemen Nick Boyd and Lorne House.

In regard to Boyd, he was appealing the ORC's ruling in relation to his violation of SB rule 22.23.03 (a), (b) and (c) and 22.23.05 (a), (b) and (c) in Race 6 on November 4, 2012 at Georgian Downs.

The ORC panel denied Boyd's appeal, but varied the penalty to a $300 fine and seven days driving suspension to be served from March 31 to April 6, 2013 inclusively.

In regard to House, he was appealing the ORC's ruling in relation to his violation of Standardbred Rule 22.05.01 (a) during Race 10 on January 8, 2013 at the Western Fair District.

The ORC panel denied House's appeal and varied the penalty to a five-day driving suspension, which will be served from April 3 to April 7, 2013 inclusively.
