Jeffrey Stansbery Passes

Jeffrey M. Stansbery, 63, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away on April 21 at his home from injuries sustained in a tree-cutting accident.

He was born to the late Russel and Kathryn (Neumeister) Stansbery on May 5, 1950, in Tiffin, Ohio. He was the middle of three siblings. He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1968, and went on to graduate from Kent State in 1973 with a degree in Criminal Justice. On August 16, 1975, he married Deborah Zivoder at the Willoughby United Methodist Church in Willoughby, Ohio.

Stansbery joined the Delaware Police Department in 1974, was promoted to Sergeant in 1979, and retired as a Sergeant in 2007 with 33 years of service. He was a Trustee for Asbury United Methodist Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

In his free time he enjoyed cooking for his family and friends, boating and fishing, swimming, and owning and tending to his Standardbreds.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deborah; daughters, Erin (Jeffrey) Flora and Shelley; and siblings, Karen (Bruce) Merle and Jon (Maureen).

Visitation will be Friday (April 25) from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Robinson Funeral Home where a F.O.P. service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation on Saturday (April 26) will be from 1-2 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Phillip Wilden officiating. Burial will follow in Radnor Cemetery.
