Hanover Raceway is gearing up for its 2010 Harness Racing season. A total of 46 horses took part in a qualifier day last Saturday, and the track will kick off its 31-day live season on Saturday, May 1
. First-race post time will be 7:15 p.m.
Hanover Raceway looks forward to an exciting season with a number of new events on the horizon, including a special promotion during May. 'Explore the Exotic' will feature a $3,000 vacation voucher as a grand prize. Patrons that visit Hanover Raceway and wager on an exactor, triactor, daily double or superfecta can enter their losing tickets into a drum for a chance to win a trip to an exotic location of their choice.
Saturday, May 1 is also Kentucky Derby Day, and Hanover will feature the races from Churchill Downs in its simulcast restaurant all afternoon. The first 400 people to purchase Hanover Raceway programs this Saturday will receive a Hanover Raceway baseball cap.
Over 100 horses have entered for this year’s $100,000 Dream of Glory Stakes, which will take place Saturday, July 31 followed by a $13,000 fireworks display.
Hanover will also feature nightly tours of the backstretch for eight lucky patrons, and will host learn how to read the program seminars on Monday nights in the track's private dining room.
A sponsor of Hanover Raceway, Hanover Rona, will be giving away a $25 gift certificate each night, and a $2,500 home renovation at the end of the season. Advantage Hanover Travel is going to be providing one lucky patron with a $3,000 all-inclusive travel voucher to a location of their choice.
Hanover Raceway will also features a number of nightly prizes, including dinner for two, golf passes and much more.
