Horse Racing New Brunswick is committed to getting the province’s racing season launched this Saturday at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John.
The season was planned to start last week, but as many tracks have seen the long winter has taken its toll on getting horses trained back for the spring meet.
“We realize that we will have a limited number of entries to work with, however seeing the interest at the track last week to watch the qualifiers we are committed to race this weekend,” stated HRNB President Dr. Mitch Downey.
New Brunswick is not alone in facing the problem that the winter has caused.
“This winter has wreaked havoc on training schedules for many horsemen, all the Maritime tracks have started with short fields as a result,” Downey added.
The declaration box closes at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday April 24 and post time is set for 1:00 p.m. for Saturday April 27. To view the condition sheet for Saturday’s card, click here.
