On Thursday, April 19, the Ontario Racing Commission released its rulings in regard to appeals from licensees John Yake, Randy Waples, Dwayne Jackson and Doug McNair
.
In regard to Yake, ORC allowed his appeal of the order of finish for a February 13 race involving the horse Charlie Tuna. To view the ORC ruling, click here.
In regard to Waples, the ORC had handed him a $200 fine and three-day driving suspension for striking the shaft of the race bike with his whip. The ORC panel dismissed Waples' appeal, but varied the fine to $500 and dropped the suspension. To view the ORC ruling, click here.
In regard to Jackson, he was appealing Judges’ Ruling SB43643, which had to do with the warming up of horses at certain racetracks. The ORC denied his appeal. To view the ORC ruling, click here.
In regard to McNair, he was appealing a $300 fine and five-day suspension for striking the shaft of a race bike with his whip. The ORC dismissed the appeal. To view the ORC ruling, click here.
