Officials with the Alberta Standardbred Horse Association today released the details of the organization's 2011 Annual General Meeting. The announcement includes the agenda for the meeting and the technicalities in regard to the election of officers
.
The AGM will take place on Saturday, April 9 and will begin at 7:00 p.m. It will take place at the Lacombe Memorial Centre, located at 5214 50th Avenue in Lacombe, Alta.
The proposed agenda for the AGM appears below.
- Approval of the minutes from the 2010 Annual General Meeting
- Financial Report and Approval of Financial Statements/ASHA Committee Reports
- New Business/Question Period
- Election of Officers:
- Vice President (two-year term)
- Secretary Treasurer (two-year term)
- Breeders Chair (two-year term)
- Director (two-year term)
- Director (two-year term)
- Director (one-year term)
- Three members of the Breeders’ Committee (three-year term)
- Installation of New Officers
Note: In order to be eligible to vote** at any meeting of the association, or in order to be appointed or run for any position on the board of directors, a person must have either held full membership in the association or held membership as a groom currently licensed by Horse Racing Alberta, for a period of 30 days prior to the date of such meeting, appointment or election. Payment for membership must have been received in full at the ASHA office on or before the end of business hours (4:30 p.m., MST) on March 8, 2011.
(** To be eligible to vote you must be a full member of the association or have a valid groom membership in the association. Article 3. b) (i). of the ASHA By Laws currently states “an applicant is eligible for full membership if that applicant or that applicant’s spouse is a registered owner or lessee of a registered standardbred horse or a breeder, trainer or driver currently licensed by Horse Racing Alberta.)
