11 Late Closer Series At Pompano

Nominations close on March 15, 2008 for the eleven new late closer series at the Isle Pompano Park. There is more than $200,000 up for grabs in the just the finals of the eleven races

The top events are the Isle Pompano Park (Open Pace), Girls Night Out (Mares Open Pace) and the Trots And Slots Series (Open Trot). Each of the finals are $35,000 added and each of the two preliminary rounds have a purse of $20,000.

The Red Bow Tie Series is an open event for Florida-sired pacers only and carries a purse in the final of $30,000. The Aime Choquette Series is a conditioned trotting series named after Delvin Miller’s second trainer for 50 years, Amie Choquette, who is now 94-years-old and resides in Pompano Beach. The Springboard Series is the pacing counterpart to the Amie Choquette Series.

There are also five “non-claiming series” for claimers. They are the Spring Sting ($8,000 claiming pace), the Spring Fling ($8,000 claiming trot), the Spring Bling ($8,000 claiming mares pace), the Four Wars ($4,000 claiming pace) and the Fab Fours ($4,000 claiming mares pace). The series is for claimers but no claiming will be allowed in the series.
