Pat Crowe Passes

Longtime horseman Patrick (Pat) Joseph Crowe, the regular driver and trainer of Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame pacer Cam Fella, passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 87.

Pat was a lifelong harness horseman, owner, trainer and driver. In 1963, he was the winner of Mohawk Raceway's inaugural race with pacer David Hal B, in 2:09.1. In 1982, and again in 1983, Pat was the driver/trainer of the legendary Cam Fella, who was the Canadian and U.S. Horse of the Year. In 2013, Pat drove his last race and retired the following year from training. Pat was inducted into the Springwater Sports Hall of Fame in September 2024.

Cherished father to Christine Crowe-Campeau (Marcel), Kim Nicodemo (James), Mark (2013), Kevin (Donna), Michelle Crowe (Pete) and Shawna Crowe. Forever remembered by his grandchildren, Jack (Chrissy), Ryan (Kayla), Karly (Gavin), Brady (Jada), Colby, Trinity (Stephen), Eve, Macy, Gretia, Ariana (Zachary), Joseph and Dylann. Pat will also be remembered by his great grandchildren, Mark, Sofia, Mia and Cleo.

Loving brother to Carol Marcolin, Marie Palmer, Sharron Crowe, Peggy Roach (Ron), Tim Crowe (Phyllis) and sister-in-law Lucy.

Predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Gertrude Crowe; his brothers, Tom (Goldie) and Gary; his sister, Irene Day; and his brothers-in-law Lorenzo and Keith.

His friendship will be greatly missed by Judy Foley, Jackie Dennis and Teddye Lucas.

The family would like to give their sincere appreciation to all the staff on Hillman March wing at Heron Terrace for their care. The family would also like to thank Moya for the exceptional dedication and care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Mount St. Louis with family and friends.

I am truly saddened by this news. The '70's and '80's were my heydays at the tracks and though it does not feel long enough ago to be losing so many great people from that era. I guess time really has passed. My sincerest condolences to all of Pat's family and friends.
