René Nadon Passes

Former Standardbred trainer and owner René Nadon of Gatineau, Que. passed away on Tuesday, March 22 at the age of 86.

He was the son of the late Philias Nadon and the late Annette Plouffe. He is survived by his spouse, Lise Charron; his children from his marriage to the late Alméa Lemay, Johanne (Michel St-Louis), Suzanne (Michel Larouche), Pierre, Denis and Carole (Louis-Pierre Lafortune); his grandchildren, Cédric, Marie-Pier, Sébastien, Philippe and Victoria; his great-grandchildren, Marilou, Kaël and Emyl; his brothers and sisters, Madeleine, Roger (Hélène), Réal (Jocelyne), Lucille sscj, Yvain (Jeannette), Noëlla (Jacques), Gilles, Henri-Paul and Ginette; as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins, parents and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Léo (late Jean) and his sister and goddaughter Jocelyne. He also leaves the children and grandchildren of his spouse, Mélissa Charron, Steve McDermott (Sophie Latreille), Zacharie and Noelie.

The family invites relatives and friends to join them on Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m. at the Ange-Gardien Church, 255, rue du Progrès, Gatineau (Angers sector) J8M 1T2 for a mass in the presence of the ashes. The family will be at the church at 10 a.m. to receive condolences.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made as a donation to the Association for Exceptional People of Papineau (APEP), C. P. 2861, Gatineau (Quebec) J8L 2X2 in honour of his sister and goddaughter Jocelyne.
