John Sheldon Hill of Ottawa, Ont. passed away on March 17, 2026, at the age of 69.
He was the beloved husband of Beth Taylor, loving father of Taylor R.W. Hill, brother-in-law to Alison Taylor and dear friend to many. John was born to Robert G. Hill and Patricia (Wardle) Hill on July 17, 1956 in Ottawa.
John was the owner and executive of a long-standing family business, which started in Ottawa. He also owned and enjoyed the sport of horse racing, both pacers and trotters. Recently, he was a former executive with the Kanata Lasers Hockey Club of the (Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL). Most recently, he was an owner and executive and governor of the Ottawa Junior Canadians in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL).
Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in lieu of flowers.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the outstanding dialysis team at the Ottawa Carleton Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on April 11, 2026 at the Cole Funeral Services. A reception to follow at Hometown Sports on Bank Street, Ottawa.
