A seminar for breeders will be taking place this Saturday afternoon (March 30) in the Red Shores’ meeting room.
The seminar will begin at 1.00 p.m. with a presentation from Lisa Pfister and Thomasina Orr of Pfera, who will be presenting a session and demonstration on Predicting Foaling Times and FoalPoint Mare Cycle Management software. Pfera has developed an innovative foaling alert system that predicts foaling within the next 12 hours. The new technique, the development of which has been supported by the PEI Bio Alliance, could be major development in dealing with anticipated foaling problems.
The PEI Colt Stakes will present its annual assessment of Maritime stallions, as managing director Norman Hall will have a follow on session at 2.00 p.m. The session will focus on the stallions available to breeders on PEI for this breeding season using existing stallion profiles and predicted profiles for new stallions on PEI and in Ontario.
