Former Standardbred trainer Rick (Jake) Jacobs of Hagersville, Ont. passed away in his home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the age of 71.
A loving dad and proud grandpa, Rick was a kind-hearted man who found joy in training racehorses, with Bevan Hanover and Aljac being amongst his favourite horses. He also loved playing music, cracking jokes and watching sports. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and resilience.
He is survived by his children, Jayme Jacobs and Charlotte Morritt-Jacobs (Alex Perrett); and grandkids, Dezmund Jacobs, Arlo Perrett and Macklin Perrett.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Hagersville Legion on Saturday, March 29 at 1 p.m.
