In addition to the opening leg of the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series, the Friday, March 28 card at MGM Yonkers Raceway also now has a $6,108.01 carryover and a $20,000 guaranteed pool in the Pick 5 after that wager wasn't hit on Thursday, March 27.

During Thursday's pari-mutuel action, Bruce Baker lasted from pillar to post and Yogi Sheridan charged into action late to win their respective $18,714 divisions of the North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) Trot. Baker delivered 3-2 chalk Love This Bar to a 2:01.1 victory in the first NAADA division, while Lionhead surged forward in the closing stages to snag victory in the second NAADA Trot.

NAADA action continues at Yonkers Raceway next Thursday (April 3) with the third leg of the club’s Spring Fling Series.

The Matchmaker will feature prominently during the Pick 5 on Friday as three of the four $50,000 USD divisions for older pacing mares will occur during the sequence.

The guarantee in the Pick 5 is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program. Free past performances for the Pick 5, courtesy of TrackMaster, are available at handicapping.ustrotting.com. The Pick 5, which begins in race five and has a $1 minimum, has a takeout rate of 20 per cent.

Stakes action continues on Monday, March 31 at Yonkers with five $50,000 USD splits of the first round of the MGM Borgata Pacing Series for older males. Hellabalou begins his journey for three straight Borgata titles from post seven in Race 5.

MGM Yonkers Raceway is currently operating on a Monday through Friday live schedule with post time each night at 6:45 p.m. (EDT).
