Harness Racing PEI has announced Sobeys Atlantic as the title sponsor of the Gold Cup & Saucer for 2009

The signature event, staged during Old Home Week August 14 to August 22, 2009, will be celebrating its 50th running on Saturday August 22, 2009.
With more than 1,300 stores in 10 provinces and thousands of wholesale customers, Sobeys is a leading national grocery retailer and food distributor in Canada.
“Sobeys is a community leader and has supported this event for many years,” said Lee Drake, director of Marketing & Media Relations for Harness Racing PEI. “We are delighted to have Sobeys associated with the one of the biggest events on PEI.”
Details will be released soon on major plans with the 50th running including the Gold Cup Ambassador Reunion, Live from Colonel Dan’s Segments and a grand prize promotion called the Countdown to the Cup.
