This year marks the 250th Anniversary of horse racing in Canada, providing an incredible opportunity for everyone associated with horse racing to celebrate the history of the industry and honour the sport’s champions and heroes, past and present.
The I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club wants to hear your ideas on how you think racetracks and associations could commemorate or celebrate the 250th Anniversary of Horse Racing. If you could create an exciting event for a racetrack, farm, festival or association to celebrate this occasion, what would it be? The judges will evaluate the entries based on practicality, feasibility and budget, and the best ideas will be shared with racetracks and horse racing associations across the country, providing them with ideas for hosting their own commemorative mile.
The judges will also pick one winner who will receive a swag package of Fan Club and 250 merchandise and a $50 gift certificate to the Canadian harness racetrack of choice.

250 Tour – Form a group of horse racing ambassadors, historians and legends to travel around your province or community and visit the historical horse racing spots to inspire a deeper understanding of our industry, people and horses.

Time Capsule - Have a time capsule presentation including historic items from the racetrack and bury the capsule on your chosen 250 anniversary race day.

250 Garden – Plant a garden at your racetrack or association with the colours from the 250 anniversary logo OR re-create the logo itself!
