This Friday (March 23), the Meadowlands Racetrack will return to its prime time post time of 7:15 p.m. with an 11-race card.
The 7:15 p.m. post time will remain the post time throughout the balance of the meet, with the exception of July 7 and 14, which will both kick off with earlier posts.
Trotters will take the track for the featured dash (race 2) with a familiar favourite: the ultra-consistent Opulent Yankee, who will take on six rivals. Driver Andy Miller converted a perfect pocket trip to upset Gural Hanover last week and will have to overcome the outside Post 7 Friday to repeat. Julie Miller trains for Little E, LLC, Dave Stolz and Art Geiger.
There will be a new face in the race this week, as Dekeyser will make his Meadowlands debut from Post 6 for the combination of owner Paul Lang and trainer Tom Fanning. The Ohio-bred Dekeyser won 15 of 24 and $123,365 last season in the Buckeye state and made the move into the Fanning barn over the winter break. Brett Miller has the drive.
Program pages for the Late Pick 4 and Jackpot Super Hi-5 carryover, now at $148,306 are available for for free on the Meadowlands website.
Meadowlands fans with a fever for more money may find relief in this Friday's ‘Money Machine Fever’ promotion.
