Changes To Nova Scotia Stakes

Officials with the Nova Scotia Harness Racing Industry Association have announced that there are changes to eligibility for the Nova Scotia Stakes Series.

The changes will be in effect for foals born in 2015 – the change being that the series is also open to foals that are 100 per cent Nova Scotia-owned.

For foals of 2015, the purpose of this program, Nova Scotia-foaled shall be defined as a foal whose place of birth on the Standardbred Canada/USTA registration certificate indicates Nova Scotia and is 100 per cent Canadian owned as of January 31, 2016 and/or Canadian-sired, meaning sired by a stallion that stood in Canada for the applicable breeding season.

If not Canadian-sired, the foal must remain 100 per cent Nova Scotia ownership for the duration of the series.
