'Driver Madness' Tourney Returns

It’s that time of the year again for harness fans to get in on the ‘Madness’ and a chance to win a $250 Visa gift card.

The 2020 Driver Madness Tournament, sponsored by ongait.com and hosted by the Harness Racing FanZone, will kick off on Monday, March 16.

The tournament, which took place for the first time in 2019, features 64 of harness racing’s top drivers selected with 16 in each of four regions by an expert panel consisting of: Joe Zambito (South/West), Pete Medhurst (Mid-Atlantic), Dave Brower (Northeast), and Barry Vicroy (Midwest).

This year, the tournament has been greatly expanded with contestants required to fill out complete brackets rather than trying to pick just the winner like last year when Jimmy Devaux upset Brett Miller in the final.

The 64 drivers will be announced, with brackets and the complete rules available, on ‘Selection Monday,’ March 9.

To enter, contestants are required to complete a bracket, just as they would in the national college basketball championship tournament. Points will be awarded for each correct selection with the amount of points increasing through each round of the tournament.

Each contestant’s completed bracket can be submitted via Facebook, Twitter, or by sending a copy via email to [email protected] beginning at noon on Tuesday, March 10.

The final deadline for entries is 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 15.

There is a limit of one entry per person.

The announcement of the winner of the 2020 Driver Madness Tournament, sponsored by ongait.com will be on Tuesday, April 14.

No purchase necessary to enter.
