Ron Slack Passes

Longtime industry participant Ron Slack, of Cobourg, Ont., recently passed at the age of 78.

Slack enjoyed racing Standardbreds as a diversion from his work at General Motors. Among his favourite horses were Happy Hooves and Luvs For Ever. In recent years, he loved watching his children enjoy success with Cold Creek Cabo and Ideal Jet.

Slack is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances; a son, Bill; a daughter, Rhonda; and sisters, Marie Arsenault and Marilyn Somerville.

Arrangements are private. Memorial donations may be made to Northumberland Humane Society, and will be received at www.rossfuneralchapel.com.
