The Meadowlands Spring Mixed Sale, conducted by Tattersalls, is scheduled for Sunday, April 29 in the track’s race paddock.
Entries are now being accepted, and may be sent by using the form on the Tattersalls website (tattersallsredmile.com), or by calling the sales company office at 914-773-7777. The main catalogue will close April 6.
In making the announcement, sale manager David Reid said this year’s sale is scheduled nearly two weeks earlier than last year, to better coincide with the opening of 2018 race meets at Harrah’s Philadelphia, Pocono, Hoosier Park, and others.
“With all the big meets starting up, and purses strong as ever, buyers will be searching high and low for quality racehorses ready to drop in the box. Sellers should be extremely well rewarded if they’re willing to step forward with that quality,” Reid said.
Last year’s Spring Mixed posted the highest average in the sale’s history and was led by top-seller Rock N Roll World ($165,000), who went on to win invitationals and compete in free for all classics like the Breeders Crown, Ben Franklin and William Haughton Memorial.
Consignors are reminded that Tattersalls has adjusted its entry deadlines much closer to sale time, to lessen outs and to publish a more accurate and up-to-date main catalogue. With that said, Reid urges consignors not to delay in submitting their entries.
