Ray Fraser Passes

Longtime standardbred owner Ray H. Fraser, 70, of Moncton, N.B. passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital with his loving family at his side on Saturday, March 9.

Born in Bryants Corner, he was the son of the late Melbourne and Ruby (Flanagan) Fraser.

Ray was the owner of R. Fraser Landscaping Ltd. since 1965. He was a long standing member of the CNLA and an active member of the Canadian Standardbred Association for over 25 years. His horses were his passion and love for many years.

Ray enjoyed life with his family, especially with his grandsons, watching them play hockey and attending all their sporting events. Ray also had a big smile whenever he met someone, he was a kind-hearted man and always had something funny to say.

Ray will be sadly missed by his loving wife of over 49 years, Verna (Stewart) Fraser, his children, Cindy Fraser, Heather Warren-Whyte (Tyson) and Kevin Fraser (Lisa) all of Moncton; precious grandsons, Brian Warren (Jenn), Brent Warren, Tyler, Charles and Travis Fraser and Alex Arseneau, all of Moncton; cherished great grandson, Hudson Warren; brothers, Harvey (Vivian) of Lutes Mountain and Ken of Moncton, Charlie (Hattie) of Clairville; sister, Freda Fraser of Moncton; sister in law, Shelly Fraser of Clairville; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his brothers, Gary Fraser (1965), Al Fraser (1985); nephew, Ross Fraser (1979); son in law, Thomas Warren (2007).

Visitation will be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 14 at 1:30 p.m. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment to be held at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

In Ray’s memory, donations to Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation (Cardiac Unit) or memorial of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
