Due to the impending winter storm that is forecast to hit southwestern Ontario throughout Tuesday afternoon and evening, officials at The Raceway at Western Fair District have cancelled Tuesday night’s live card of racing.
Environment Canada has issued both a snowfall and winter storm warning for the area that calls for freezing rain, heavy snow and blowing snow for the area with accumulations of up to 25 cm by Wednesday morning.
Live racing is also scheduled for Wednesday evening at 6:15 p.m. and officials will monitor the weather and track conditions Wednesday morning before making a decision on the status of Wednesday’s program.
Horsepeople are also advised that training for Wednesday morning at Western Fair has been cancelled.
