Published media reports that have come out of Florida on Tuesday (March 1) have cited the state’s Senate Appropriations Chair, Tom Lee, as saying that the massive state gaming compact with the Seminole Tribe that would allow the majority of Florida racetracks to offer gaming without having to offer pari-mutuel horse racing is being postponed.

Specific details are not available at this time, as the story is developing, but an article by The Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel has cited Lee as saying that the bill is being postponed.

Groups representing horsepeople in the state have been fighting the bills in support of ‘decoupling’ since the word of the gaming compact surfaced late in 2015.
