Western Fair Raceway and the Ontario Harness Horse Association announced today that they have reached a one-year contract agreement which will extend
to December 31, 2010.
The only significant difference between the previous contract and the one finalized today is the requirement, for insurance purposes, that any individual racing at Western Fair must sign a waiver of liability.
“We are pleased to have finalized an agreement with OHHA for the 2010 racing season,” said Western Fair Association’s chief executive officer, Hugh Mitchell. “Now we can focus on tackling together some of the key issues facing racing today.”
“OHHA is pleased to have this agreement finalized,” stated OHHA’s president, Don Amos. “Our local directors, Ken Hardy, Peter Core and Bill Bannon, as well as our past president, Darryl MacArthur, devoted a lot of time and energy into these negotiations and OHHA is looking forward to our continued partnership with the Western Fair Association.”
