Arrangements Set For Patricia Bullock

Published: February 6, 2019 12:00 pm EST

After a long and valiant fight with her Alzheimer’s, Standardbred breeder Patricia ‘Pat’ Bullock, 77, passed away peacefully in the early morning of February 6, 2019 at the Villages of Tansley Woods, in Burlington, Ont., with family at her side.

Pat owned and operated Glengate Farms along with her husband, Jim Bullock.

Loving wife of Jim for 54 years. Dear mother of Chris (Hadia) and grandmother of Cody, Liam and Zoë.

A Celebration of Pat’s Life will take place at Hockley Valley Resort, 793522 Mono 3rd Line, Mono, on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. Cremation has taken place.

Pat was raised in a farming community in southern Ontario. After completing her post secondary education at York University and the University of Toronto, she taught in the public school system, specializing in children with learning difficulties.

Pat had spent significant time running Glengate Farms, which she and Jim had purchased in the early 1990s. The Standardbred nursery was located near the now-Woodbine Mohawk Park. The farm boasted a strong roster of stallions, which included the iconic trotting stud Balanced Image along with top sires Angus Hall and Apaches Fame.

Glengate was also actively involved with transporting semen around the world and worked diligently to perfect the freezing of equine semen. Glengate ultimately closed its doors as a commerical breeding enterprise later in the 2000s, but the Bullocks remained active, as they worked to assemble a top-notch Standardbred broodmare band in the past few years.

Please join Standardbred Canada in offering condolences to the friends and family of Pat Bullock.

Our Condolences to the Bullock Family

Pat was always a helpful positive voice on the phone at Glengate Farms and worked hard on the ORC Board. Always pleasant and always smiling. Rest in peace Pat...... Marv and Moira.

Deepest condolences. I always found Pat to be such a pleasant person to deal with at Glengate. A real gem of a lady.

Patricia Bullock was a generous, gentle, gifted woman. Along with her caring, loving husband Jim they epitomized everything that is good and decent about the sport of harness horse racing. Some in the sport may not have known this remarkable lady and that would have been their loss because Pat was an indefatigable supporter of the industry with an engaging smile for one and all. Sincere condolences to Jim and the extended Bullock family.

We want to send our deepest condolences to The Bullock Family. We always found Mrs. Bullock so good to deal with. Mary Jane & John Findley.
