ORC Request For Qualifications

The Ontario Racing Commission oversees three different breed programs and uses outside support services to augment the work of existing ORC staff to administer the programs and develop new initiatives. Contracts

for these existing services have expired and the ORC has issued a Request for Qualifications for program support services to provide these services for the New Year.

Individuals or companies interested in providing this service should have an in-depth knowledge of the horse racing and breeding industry, as well as the industry programs the ORC oversees.

The potential vendor should have experience in:

  • Industry outreach and support for industry development programs
  • Working with volunteer-based organizations and industry stakeholder groups
  • Facilitation of group planning sessions including preparation of pre-and-post meeting documents and reports
  • Program financial management, including preparation of annual budgets and multi-year forecasts
  • Development of content for annual reports
  • Market development initiatives, with a specific focus on the equine sector. Experience with the horse-racing and breeding sectors would be a specific advantage

The skill set being sought includes:

  • Technical skills (computer, budgeting, research and analysis)
  • Reporting and content development skills (writing for all types of media and report writing) and
  • Facilitation/presentation skills (planning and developing sessions)

The deadline for submissions to be received by the ORC is February 16, 2010.
