The first sustaining payments for this year’s editions of the Charles and Helen Smith Trots are due by February 15.
The fee is $200 for the Charles Smith open and $200 for the Helen Smith for fillies. Both stakes, restricted to three-year-old New Jersey-sired trotters, are sponsored by the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey.
The $60,000 estimated Helen Smith Final is scheduled for September 6 and the $80,000 estimated Charles Smith on September 20, both at Freehold.
