The Pick Four pool on Saturday, February 19 was the highest of the 2011 Meadowlands meet and a track record
.
The $132,002 pool, which helped fuel a total handle just short of $3 million, was the highest in history for a card that did not include the Meadowlands Pace, Hambletonian or a carryover. The Pick Four pool has averaged $87,766 through the first 20 nights of the meet with an average payout of $2,939 for a $1 wager. The $7,457 payoff on February 19 was the third highest of the meet.
Higher Pick Four pool guarantees introduced this month will continue through March with $100,000 on Saturdays, $75,000 on Fridays and $50,000 on Thursdays. Offered nightly on races six through nine, the Pick Four features a low 15 percent takeout.

B-Mac The truth about the
B-Mac
The truth about the Meadowlands is in how the bettors look at the product. They are the #1 harness track as far as handle goes in North America. That says a lot given how they're supposedly on their death bed.
Record pick four handle
Record pick four handle lower 15 percent takeout. The guarantee attracts people to the bet but it is the lower takeout that attracts the gamblers. If the Meadowlands gets lucky and gets a carryover and leaves the 15 percent takeover I would predict a record pool over 300 grand. Lets hope those who can change the betting model in Canada are watching this pool and the takeouts effect on pool size.
Nice to see something
Nice to see something positive for a change especially in the betting prespective!!
