On Saturday, February 13 at Bluewater Health, located on Mitton St. in Sarnia, Ont., former Standardbred Canada member Ronald 'Ron' Winger passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a brief battle with cancer
. He was 66.
Ron, of Corunna, Ont., is the beloved husband of Florence, and is the loving son of Kaye Winger of Leamington, Ont. He is the father of Greg Winger, Jeff Winger and his wife Kim, Lori Drouillard and her husband Ed all of Windsor, Eric Crone and his wife Marnie of Corunna and Mark Crone and his wife Lori of Courtright.
As well as multiple grandchildren, Ron is also survived by his sister, Drinda Doyle, and her husband, Richard, of Leamington.
Ron was predeceased by his father, Bill (2009), and by his brother, Randy (1975).
Ron was the president of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #447 - Corunna and had retired from Shell Canada.
Friends will be received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 St. Clair Parkway, Corunna on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Royal Canadian Legion Br. #447 - Corunna will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
