After a tenacious battle with Parkinson’s, Nancy Diane Matheson passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 77.
Beloved wife of John Matheson, Nancy was born in Hanover, ON to the late Stanley and Tillie (née Weis) Wendorf where she enjoyed an idyllic childhood with her sister Jane.
John and Nancy raised and trained Standardbred horses on their Meaford farm, Scotia Stables. Nancy was an avid follower of the horse races and could tell you which horse won which race at what time and speed. She often enjoyed re-watching races of the horses that she and John had personally raised.
The barn was like a second home to Nancy and she enjoyed every aspect of raising horses, from cleaning the barn to cheering on a winning horse.
