SHOP Elects New VP & Director

The Standardbred Horse Owners Panel (SHOP) has elected John Bax as its new vice president

. Bax was one of the founding Directors of SHOP. He has been an owner and trainer for many years and was elected to the Sports Hall of Fame of Peterborough for his outstanding performance in racing.

“I hope through SHOP that we can help unify the industry to improve harness horse racing in Ontario," says Bax.

In addition, Ken Morden was elected to the Board of Directors. Morden is a long-time harness horse owner and operates Oak Knoll Stable, a breeding and racing stable. In addition to his business experience as owner of an advertising company, Morden has recently served as the Chair of the Standardbred Canada Audit and Governance Committee.

Morden commented, “I am very happy to have been elected to the Board of Directors of this organization, which has a strong voice for harness horse owners in Ontario.”
