The betting public’s top three choices finished 1-2-3 in the Thursday evening finale at Woodbine Racetrack, and as a result it was another night of multiple winning tickets in the track’s popular Jackpot Hi 5 wager.
Race favourite Emptythetill (8-5) held on for a head victory over Bugatti (5-2), with Frontier Seelster (5-2) rounding out the top three finishers. A pair of double-digit longshots – Max Is Back (17-1) and New Standard (69-1) – completed Thursday’s winning combination of 2-5-3-1-4. The $1 kickback for fans that came up with the winning ticket was $500.30.
Multiple winning tickets on Thursday evening sent the carryover climbing to $438,804.52 for Friday evening’s card of racing. The wager will be offered until the conclusion of the Saturday, December 17 program at which point the Jackpot Hi 5 will be held over until the December 23 card. There will be a mandatory payout in effect during that card of racing.
