Christmas is less than three weeks away, and one horseman in particular has already got into the Christmas spirit.
Harness Racing BC has announced that Fraser Downs-based owner/trainer Daniel Gaboury has graciously offered to donate all December earnings from his horse Buddys Hope to the Surrey Food Bank.
Gaboury has always contributed to various fundraisers in the backstretch at different racetracks where he has raced, and he wanted to do something for the community this year.
Gaboury was quoted as saying, “once Christmas is over the food bank supplies get depleted, and hopefully ‘Buddy’ can help to fill those shelves going into the New Year.”
Fraser Downs and Harness Racing BC will each match Gaboury’s offer and HRBC Executive Director Jackson Wittup will donate $50 for each of Buddy’s wins.
Buddys Hope is in the 10th race at Fraser Downs this Sunday (December 7) and is the 7-2 third choice on the morning line from Post 3. Dave Hudon will be in the race bike.
