Third Straight, who from his first crop was Indiana’s leading sire of money-winning three-year-old pacers in 2010, has been acquired by Walnut Hall Ltd., Lexington, Kentucky, where he will stand beginning with the 2011 season

The announcement of his purchase was made by Alan J. Leavitt, president of Walnut Hall Ltd., which is owned by his wife, Meg Jewett.

By Western Hanover, out of the crack racemare Terrie Letsgo p,3,1:53.1 ($296,505), by Direct Scooter, Third Straight was a tops stakes contender at two and three, winning $176,614 at two, taking his record at three of 1:50.1f setting a NTR at Pocono Downs.

Retired with earnings of $317,776, Third Straight was an immediate success in the stud, from his first crop at two the second leading money-winning sire in the Indiana program, and then coming back in 2010 to be Indiana’s leading sire of three-year-old money winning pacers. From that crop his credits include Dark Alley Sally p,3,1:53.4 ($367,980), Bluebird Regal p,3,1:54.4 ($142,894), and McStraight p,3,1:54.3 ($140,847).

Third Straight will stand for a fee of $1,000 in 2011, Leavitt said, and added that Third Straight brings to the Kentucky Sire Stakes program a proven pacing sire at an affordable fee, which is exactly what the Kentucky Sire Stakes was lacking.
