Monticello Announces Nine-Horse Fields

With the approval of the New York State Racing & Wagering Board from a joint request by Monticello Raceway Management, Inc. and the Monticello Harness Horsemen’s Association, Inc., Monticello Raceway will offer nine-horse fields in three races on each program during

January and February, 2011.

However, there are certain conditions and requirements that the raceway and horsemen must adhere to.

1. The nine (9) horse may start behind the one, two, or three post position horse as determined by the driver at the start
2. Provisional drivers are not permitted to compete in races with nine horse fields
3. There will be no “also eligible” draws in races with nine horse fields

During the months of January and February, Monticello will continue with its Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday live racing schedule with first-race post times remaining at 12:25 pm.

The draw for the Tuesday, January 3 card will take place on Thursday, December 30. The entry box will close at 9:00 a.m.
