Updated: Myrna Sholty Passes

Myrna Sholty, 74, the widow of Hall of Famer George F. Sholty, passed away on Thursday, December 19 in Lexington, Ky., after battling cancer.

Myrna was actively involved in harness racing throughout her late husband's career, and following his passing she continued to be involved, breeding notable performers Power To Charm 3,1:53.1 ($664,880) and Whata Winner 3,1:55 ($642,844).

Services will be held on Monday (Jan. 6) in Lexington, Ky. The service will begin at 10 a.m. at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 463 E. Main St., in Lexington, with a procession to the cemetery following the service. Family and friends will gather at 12 noon at the Red Mile with food and drinks provided.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Stable of Memories, a 501c3 charitable organization whose mission is to preserve the Round Barn adjacent to the Red Mile. Myrna was a member of the board of the Stable of Memories. Donations may be sent to Stable of Memories, 1520 Lexington Rd., Georgetown, KY 40324.
