Thinking about getting into Standardbred racehorse ownership? How would you like to win a 25 per cent share of a colt and have no bills for a year?
Officials with Eastern Equine Centre, located on Prince Edward Island, have informed Trot Insider that the centre is offering a raffle for a chance to win a 25 per cent ownership stake of one of its new colts that was just purchased at sale this year.
The winning ticket holder will receive a 25 per cent ownership share of the Ontario Sires Stakes-eligible Big Jim yearling colt Big Talking Man. All training and management will be handled by the Eastern Equine Centre.
Only 250 raffle tickets will be sold, at the cost of $100 each.
The winning ticket holder will receive the financial benefits of 25 per cent ownership without risk for a year. At the end of 2017, the winning ticket holder will assume regular 25 per cent ownership expenditures. The winning ticket holder has the right to sell or lease their 25 per cent ownership share at any time with first right of refusal given to the Eastern Equine Centre.
The contest requires a minimum of 100 entrants. Entries will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. (AST) on December 29. The draw will be performed live during Red Shores’ race day broadcast on December 31. The raffle will be conducted and drawn under PEI Jurisdiction, via Lottery License #14102.
A portion of the proceeds from this contest will go to support Pinette Raceway Inc. (865536486RT0001), which holds matinee races during the summer.
