Budweiser Gardens, Live Nation, London Music Hall and Western Fair District announced the launch of a new, two-day, country music experience, Trackside Music Festival, coming to London July 1 – 2, 2016.
The two-day concert series will take place at the Western Fair District, with tickets on sale through ticketmaster.com, December 19 at 10:00 a.m.
Trackside Music Festival is another step in the evolution of Western Fair District as a music venue.
“We are committed to continuing to build on our entertainment brand and are excited about the music partnership of Budweiser Gardens, London Music Hall, as well as Live Nation,” explains Hugh Mitchell, CEO - Western Fair District. “These community partners have been in discussions to develop outdoor music offerings in London, and our efforts will launch the partnership’s first initiative this coming summer. Trackside Music Festival, will be a high calibre, outdoor, country festival drawing music fans from far and wide. It will be the first of a number of unique outdoor music offerings at Western Fair District.”
The partnership will bring some of the top names in country to the Forest City for an unforgettable music experience. “Trackside Music Festival will provide not only Londoners, but all residents of southwestern Ontario, with an incredible opportunity to see some of Country music’s biggest stars in a unique venue right in their backyard. We look forward to working with the other partners to ensure that Trackside Music Festival will be a premier event for many years to come,” said Brian Ohl, General Manager – Budweiser Gardens & Regional Vice President – Spectra Venue Management
Trackside Music Festival will welcome award winning country duo Florida Georgia Line; hit maker and Grammy-nominee Chris Young; Randy Houser, one of country music’s most powerful voices; Cole Swindell, an American country music songwriter and recording artist, best known for his 2013 breakout hit ‘Chillin' It’; Canadian country music artist Brett Kissel alongside another of Canada’s own country music artist, Jess Moskaluke; and singer and songwriter Chris Lane. More country acts will join the festival and are set to be announced in early 2016.
More than a year-ago shovels hit the ground preparing the Infield, within the racetrack at Western Fair District, for outdoor events of this size and caliber. “We believe the time has come for a series of outdoor summer concerts in London. We are very excited to showcase some of the best International and Canadian Country talent at Trackside Music Festival this summer,” describes Riley O’Connor, Chairman - Live Nation Canada. This outdoor venue has the capacity and potential to host top musical acts and “we are excited to work with such a dynamic team to help bring London a new Music Festival for many summers to come,” explains Mike Manuel, Owner - London Music Hall. “We believe Trackside Music Festival will be an experience unlike any southwestern Ontario has ever seen.”
The festival marks the beginning of a unique partnership and with the support of music fans from across the region will fortify London’s reputation as a music hub. “The creation of a country music festival is a timely and welcomed initiative for London that can not only significantly enhance visitations but build on London's reputation as an entertainment destination,” explained John Winston, General Manager – Tourism London.
