Charles Gray, 61, passed away recently and was laid to rest on Monday, December 16 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Lexington, Kentucky.

Gray was a fixture at Pocono Downs and other tracks as a trainer and driver for approximately 40 years and was very well liked by everyone.

Gray was nicknamed Buckwheat, ‘Buck’ for short, which he seemed to embrace rather than mind, and even embroidered it on his colours.

According to USTA records, Gray trained 69 winners in his career and his trainees banked $180,594. As a driver, he piloted 60 horses to the winner's circle and his mounts banked $148,036.
