Race 4
#1. McGain N McGain - Is clearly the horse to beat in tonight’s opening leg of the Pick-4. She has gone undefeated since the trainer change to Richard Moreau and has been given Post 1. She has been pacing 1:53 miles lately and that should be good enough to win tonight’s event.
#5. Bullet Point - I think she is the only horse that can give McGain N McGain a run for her money. With a pair of 1:52 miles previously recorded, an effort like that again should seal the deal for her connections. She’s back taking on her own age level which should increase her chances.
Race 5
#1. Blue Baraness - Expect her to be positioned well early in the mile. She has been successful at this level after winning on Oct. 29. If she doesn’t get hard used like in her most recent start (:26.3 first quarter) she should be a threat turning for home.
#3. St Lads Treasure - Was victorious at this level two starts ago for Jamieson. She has been very competitive at this bottom class and with an inside post will likely go off as the bettor’s choice.
#8. Paris Viking - Is shipping in from Windsor after scoring a 1:55 winning effort. She steps back into the claiming ranks which should suit her better on this circuit. She appears like she has enough speed to go with this field; it will all depend on what type of trip Brewer engineers.
#10. Bunny In The Bank - Although she hasn’t been racing up to her potential I think she has enough talent to upset her rivals, even with Post 10. She has competed at a much higher level and has been successful, tonight might be her night.
Race 6
#3. Tracy My Love - Is the 5-2 morning line favourite and she was won in this class before. She finished a respectful second last week with a :28.4 final quarter. She is racing against the males tonight but she has shown that she is competitive in this class.
#4. Skyway Cruiser - Is a chancy wager; he could win or make a break. He teams up with Jamieson again which is a plus considering he made a break with Baillargeon last week. If Jamieson can keep him steady then he’s certainly a threat.
#5. Adrion Dream - Waples picks up the catch drive on this consistent trotter who has shown he can win at this level. He hasn’t been worse than third in his last five starts which has to be taken into consideration. If Waples can work out an off-the-pace effort, he’ll be in contention turning for home.
Race 7
#3. Highland Dancer - Shows a :28 final quarter last week to finish second to Mi Amanda (Post 9). She has drawn better then last week (Post 8) and should be forwardly placed and end up with a better result.
#6. Holiday Shopper - Is a great value at her 5-1 morning line. She showed :54.4 back-half in her most recent start which is impressive. I don’t expect her to get placed too far back starting from Post 6. It appears her best stride comes near the front.
#9. Mi Amanda - Gillis and Jamieson team up again after posting the victory in this class last week. She is known for her gate-speed, which I’m sure will occur again tonight from Post 9. If Jamieson doesn’t rough her up to early, she’s the one to beat.
