The sale will be held on its traditional date, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 17 in the Meadowlands race paddock.
“I expect the Winter Mixed to continue the trend that’s been carried through from the fall yearling sales to the Harrisburg Mixed,” said sale manager David Reid. “There’s no shortage of money for good horses, and sellers can expect to be well rewarded if they bring quality racehorses that are in good form.
“At the recently concluded Harrisburg Mixed Sale, most consignors felt that horses were selling beyond expectations. That included raceway horses and race fillies that were bought for their breeding value.”
Long a fixture on the industry’s annual auction calendar, the sale bills itself as 'the winter racehorse marketplace’ and lives up to that tagline.
