The entry deadline for the Meadowlands January Select Mixed Sale is Monday, Dec. 4. The sale will be held as usual on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 15, in the racetrack’s back paddock.
This sale is the largest of the three Tattersalls mixed auctions at the Meadowlands, and according to sale manager David Reid, this year’s January Mixed is shaping up to be another great market for ready-to-go racehorses and highly accomplished fillies and mares.
“Even with many of the major stables planning to send their entries Monday, we already have a very strong group of quality racehorses, and I think the ‘Magnificent Mares’ section of the sale will be impressive to buyers as well,” Reid said.
“Last January the sale posted its highest average in nearly 10 years and had its best attendance ever, and I’m optimistic this year’s sale will continue that trend. With both the economy and personal investments so strong right now, and purses high across the board, I think buyers will be as aggressive as ever.”
Reid said he encourages consignors to enter by Monday to make the main catalog, and have the advantage of added exposure and promotion.
Those wanting to consign horses may do so on the Tattersalls website, tattersallsredmile.com, or by calling the sales company office at (914) 773-7777.
