On Wednesday, November 3, Northern Chief cruised to a new Monticello Raceway record when he triumphed in his 11th consecutive race

.

Although he had drawn outer posts in his most recent starts, Northern Chief will be starting from Post 1 on Wednesday, November 10 when he will be seeking his 12th consecutive victory at the 'Mighty M.' He has been rated 8-5 on the morning line.

Northern Chief will be racing in the same class that he was performing in last week. Diver Mike Merton feels that pacer can extend his streak.

“He is at the top of his game, and this week we drew the rail, so why wouldn’t I feel that we have a real good chance of winning again,” Merton queried.

Owned by Bobby Merton, Jr. and Al Desimone, the Gary Messenger-trained Northern Chief will be competing in Race 7 on the 13-dash program.

First post for the card is slated for 12:25 p.m., and the approximate seventh race post time is 2:15 p.m.
