On Friday (Nov. 6) the Hambletonian Society issued an open letter on the recently-concluded Breeders Crown championships at Harrah's Hoosier Park.
The letter from the Hambletonian Society appears below:
On behalf of The Hambletonian Society we would like to thank everyone who played a part, whether large or small, in the just concluded $6.4 million Breeders Crown at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
The racing was tremendous and some of these races and horses will go down as all-time greats in history.
A heartfelt thank you is owed to all the horsemen and women, trainers, caretakers, and drivers who participated in the Breeders Crown program and put on an epic show and the bettors and fans who helped set new handle records.
Joe Morris, Trent McIntosh, Rick Moore, Scott Peine and the entire team -- from the backstretch to the front side -- at Harrah’s Hoosier Park put on an event under unprecedented and extraordinary circumstances and pulled it off in a first-class manner.
It is a pleasure and an honour to work with and be associated with all of you.
All the guests who were fortunate enough to attend were treated to the best possible amenities under current safety protocols, and we appreciate the effort you made to attend.
Enormous praise goes to the Indiana Standardbred Association, the Indiana Racing Commission and Indiana Breed Development for showcasing their world class product. Their cooperation and support of Breeders Crown has been extraordinary and all played a major role in the success of the Event.
Our presenting sponsor Libfeld-Katz Breeding Partnership, and the Diamond Creek Winners Lounge continues to raise the bar and show faith in our industry. Those who participated in the Breeders Crown Charity Challenge truly made a difference, both in and beyond the world of harness racing.
All of the Breeders Crown event sponsors deserve a special nod, as we fully realize the challenges 2020 brought and your unwavering support is greatly appreciated.
The foundation on which the Breeders Crown is built -- owners and breeders who nominate their horses, all the hopeful yearling nominators and the stallion owners and syndicators who make the words “Breeders Crown eligible” mean so much, we could not do it without you.
The Breeders Crown success is predicated on the participation of all facets of our industry and we are extremely grateful for that.
