What started out as a one-day event to raise money and awareness for breast cancer morphed into a month-long initiative that amassed more than $1,400 in donations.
Between the IT and Accounting Departments at Standardbred Canada, staff organized a Dress for the Cause day on October 28 as a team building activity with a charitable side. Leading up to Dress for the Cause day, staff organized a number of events to ramp up awareness. The office participated in a hot dog day and a sundae day, with other funds coming from selling bracelets, a silent auction of items donated by staff, raffles and casual dress-down donations.
Going into the month, organizers established a target of $1,000, but SC office staff easily cleared that by contributing more than $1,400 to the fund raiser.
The organizers wish to thank the staff at Standardbred Canada for their support and involvement for such a worthy cause over the entire month of October.
