Drivers participating at The Meadowlands for the upcoming fall/winter meet are reminded that the track policy regarding "courtesy" tucks will be enforced beginning this weekend.
"The drivers asked that I waive enforcing this for the two weeks of Breeders Crown races. I agreed with the understanding that when the Breeders Crown was finished they would give my request that they close up the holes and make the racing more competitive an honest try," said Meadowlands President Jeff Gural. "I took them at their word. If I don't see an effort to make the races more competitive and less predictable, I will address it by asking them to take a weekend off from driving at The Meadowlands.
"We'll take a hard look at the end of the year and evaluate how this is received by our customers, whose complaints are actually the biggest reason I'm enforcing this policy. Then we'll make a decision on the future."
This policy will not apply to races restricted to two-year-olds, considering some are still green.
The Meadowlands will be racing live every Friday and Saturday at 6:20 p.m. through the month of November. The complete 2021 calendar may be found on the Meadowlands website.
